Volunteering
Interested in becoming a Volunteer?
Do you have a few hours to spare on a Saturday afternoon and would you like to be involved in the work of Enfield Family Contact Centre?
We are a volunteer-run organisation that provides a safe place to allow children from separated families to spend time with their non-resident parent and relatives.
Volunteers work as a small team to ensure a safe, friendly and calm environment for contact. When on duty (roughly every 4-6 weeks) you set up the playroom, prepare the refreshments and welcome parents and children. You need to be able to listen to children or adults who may be under stress, without judging, advising or taking sides and refer any concerns to the Co-ordinator. We always put children’s needs first. You will be offered training and ongoing support and we will help you arrange your DBS check.
Enfield Family Contact Centre welcomes adult volunteers of all levels of experience, age and gender.
If you become a Contact Centre volunteer, you will be joining a group of people whose work has made, and continues to make, a very real difference for a significant number of families throughout the whole of the United Kingdom.
Please send us a message through our contact us page or phone us for further information about becoming a volunteer as we like to have contact with you before issuing application forms.
